illustrate
This series of voltage regulators LM2672 is a monolithic integrated circuit manufactured with the LMDMOS process. These regulators offer all buck switching (buck) regulators that drive 1A loads with excellent line and load regulation current activation. The devices are available in fixed output voltage of 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V, and adjustable output versions.
With a minimal number of external components required, these regulators are simple and easy to use, including patented internal frequency compensation (patent numbers 5382918 and 5514947), fixed frequency oscillators, external shutdown, soft start, frequency synchronization.
The LM2672 series operates on switching frequencies 260 kHz thus making the filter element smaller than the filter required for a low-frequency switching regulator. Due to its extremely high efficiency (> 90%), copper wires for printed circuit boards are the only heat dissipation needs.
A standard inductor with LM2672 home can be used from several different manufacturers. This feature greatly simplifies switching power supply using these advanced integrated circuit designs. Also included in the datasheet are guidelines for selecting capacitors for diodes and designing power supplies to work in switch mode.
Other features include a guaranteed tolerance of ± 1.5% output voltage at the specified input voltage and output load conditions and 10% ± oscillator frequency. External shutdown is included with a typical 50μA standby current. The output switches include current limiting and thermal shutdown for adequate protection in fault conditions.
In order to simplify the design process of LM2672 buck regulator, there is a computer design software. The LM267X simplifies complexity Version 6.0
