The LM2676 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that are buck (buck) switching regulators capable of driving loads up to 3A with excellent line and load regulation characteristics. High efficiency (> 90%) is obtained by using a low on-resistance DMOS power switch. The series includes fixed output voltage and adjustable output versions of 3.3V, 5V and 12V.

THE SIMPLE SWITCHER CONCEPT PROVIDES A COMPLETE DESIGN USING A MINIMUM NUMBER OF EXTERNAL COMPONENTS. A higher fixed-frequency oscillator (260KHz) allows the use of smaller components. The LM2676 series for a standard inductor is available from several manufacturers, greatly simplifying the design process.
