TheLM2677 series regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide step-down switching regulators capable of driving excellent line and load regulation characteristics for 5A loads (buck) with all the positive features. High efficiency (> 90%) is obtained by using a low-on-resistance DMOS power switch. The series includes fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V and 12V and adjustable output versions.

The concept of the SIMPLE SWITCHER provides a complete design with the use of a minimum number of external components. Clock switching frequencies are available with an internal fixed frequency oscillator (260KHz) or externally supplied clocks in the range of 280KHz to 400kHz, allowing for smaller size components. A standard inductor used in the LM2677 series is available from several manufacturers, greatly simplifying the design process. External synchronous clocks provide direct and precise control of output ripple frequencies for consistent filtering or spectral positioning.

The LM2677 series also features built-in thermal shutdown, current limiting, and an ON/OFF control input that can adjust up and down the standby state of low quiescent current with a power of 50μA. The output voltage is guaranteed to be a tolerance of ± 2%.
