The LM2698 PWM boost converter is a versatile converter. The 1.9A, 18V, internal switching of 0.2ohm allows the LM2698 to provide efficient power conversion from 2.2V to 17V output. It can be used with input voltages as low as 2.2V and as high as 12V. The current-mode architecture provides superior line and load regulation and a simple frequency-compensated input voltage range of 2.2V to 12V. The LM2698 is the standard setting for power density and is capable of delivering 12V from a 5V input at 400 mA. The LM2698 can also be used in flyback or SEPIC topologies.

The LM2698's SIMPLE SWITCHER ® function pin selection is a switching frequency of 600kHz or 1.25MHz. This facilitates the selection of components and flexibility in filtration technology. A stop pin pauses the device and reduces quiescent current to 5μA. The external compensation pin allows the user to set the frequency compensation, which makes it possible to use the flexibility of the output of small, low ESR ceramic capacitors. Switcher manufacturing simple ® software is available to ensure fast, easy, and guaranteed design. The LM2698 is a low-profile 8-lead MSOP package.
