illustrate
The LM2736 regulator is a monolithic, high-frequency, PWM step-down DC/DC converter in a 6-pin low-profile SOT23 package. It offers all the positive features, providing fast transient response and precise adjustment of local DC/DC conversion in the smallest possible PCB area.
With minimal external components and support ®™ via WEBENCH online design, the LM2736 is easy to use. With an internal 350 m 750 mAh load drive capability NMOS switches use the results of state-of-the-art 0.5 micron BiCMOS technology at optimal power density. The world-class control circuitry allows for a decrease of 13ns, supporting very high conversion frequencies down to a minimum output voltage of 1.25V over the entire 3V to 18V input operating voltage range. The switching frequency is set internally (LM2736Y) to 550kHz or 1.6MHz (LM2736X), allowing for the use of extremely small surface-mount inductors and capacitors. Even at very high operating frequencies, efficiencies of up to 90% are easy to achieve. External shutdown is included with an ultra-low standby current of 30nA. The LM2736 uses current pattern control and internal compensation to provide a wide range of operating conditions with high-performance regulation. Other features include an internal soft-start circuit to reduce inrush current, pulse through pulse current limiting, thermal shutdown, and output overvoltage protection.
