The LM2750 is a regulated switched capacitor doubling that produces a low noise output voltage. The 5.0V output voltage option (LM2750 - 5.0) provides up to 120mA of output current over the 2.9V to 5.6V input range, and 40 mA output current down to 2.7V input voltage. An adjustable output voltage option with similar output current capability (LM2750 - ADJ) is also available. The LM2750 has been housed in a U.S. national 10-pin LLP package that has excellent thermal performance to maintain overheated sections under almost all rated operating conditions
A perfect fit for space-constrained, battery-powered applications, the LM2750 requires only three external components: an input capacitor, an output capacitor, and a fly capacitor. Small, inexpensive ceramic capacitors are recommended. These capacitors, together with the LM2750 with a fixed switching frequency of 1.7MHz, yield low output voltage ripple and are beneficial in requiring a low noise power supply system. Pre-tuning minimizes input current ripple and reduces input noise to negligible levels.
A tightly controlled soft-start function limits partially activated inrush current. Completely shut down the load disconnect from the input. Output current limiting and thermal shutdown circuitry protect the LM2750 and connected devices when the output is shorted or overloaded with current.
