The LM2750 is a regulated switched capacitor multiplier that produces a low noise output voltage. The 5.0V output voltage option (LM2750 - 5.0) can deliver up to 120mA of output current over the 2.9V to 5.6V input range, and up to 40mA of output current when input voltages are as low as 2.7V. Adjustable output voltage options with similar output current capability are also available (LM2750 - ADJ). The LM2750 has been placed in the national 10-pin LLP, which has excellent thermal performance packages that can prevent overheating of the part almost all under rated operating conditions
Perfect for space-constrained battery-powered applications, the LM2750 requires only 3 external components: an input capacitor, an output capacitor, and a fly capacitor. Small, inexpensive ceramic capacitors are recommended. These capacitors, combined with the LM2750 fixed switching frequency of 1.7MHz, yield low output voltage ripple and are beneficial for systems requiring low noise power supplies. Pre-tuning minimizes input current ripple and reduces negligible levels of input noise.
A tightly controlled soft-start feature limits partially activated inrush current. Shutdown completely disconnects the input load. Output current limit and thermal shutdown protection circuitry are used by both the LM2750 and connected devices when output short-circuited or excessively large current loads.
