The LM2841 and LM2842 are PWM DC/DC step-down regulators. With a wide input range from 4.5V - 42V, they are an application such as power supply unregulated sources widely suitable for air conditioning and so on. They feature a low R DSON (0.9 Ω typical) internal switching for maximum efficiency (85% typical). The fixed operating frequency is 550 kHz (X version) and 1.25 MHz (Y version), allowing the use of small external components while still being able to have low output voltage ripple. Soft-start can be achieved with an external RC that allows the user to customize the soft-start time to the shutdown pin of the application-specific circuit.

The LM2842 is optimized for load currents up to 600 mA, while the LM2841 is optimized for load currents up to 300 mA. It must have a nominal feedback voltage of 0.765V.

Other features include: thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout V, and gate-driven undervoltage lockout. The LM2841 and LM2842 are available in a low-profile TSOT-6L package.
