The LM2841 and LM2842 are PWM DC/DC step-down regulators. With a wide input range from 4.5V - 42V, they are widely used in air conditioners for applications such as power supplies from unregulated sources. They are characterized by low R_DSON（0.9Ωtypical) internal switches for maximum efficiency (85% typical). The operating frequencies are fixed at 550 kHz (X version) and 1.25 MHz (Y version), allowing the use of small external components while still enabling low output voltage ripple. Soft-start can be implemented with an external RC that allows the user-defined soft-start time to the shutdown pin of the application-specific circuit.

The LM2842 is optimized for load currents up to 600 mA, while the LM2841 is optimized for load currents up to 300 mA. There must be a nominal feedback voltage of 0.765V.

Other features include: thermal shutdown,_oweVoltage lockout V and gate drive undervoltage lockout. The LM2841 and LM2842 are available in a low-profile TSOT-6L package.
