The LM2941 positive voltage regulation function sources have a typical dropout voltage of 0.5V of 1A output current with maximum 1V capability over the entire temperature range. In addition, quiescent current reduction circuits have been included in reducing ground pin current when the difference between the input and output voltages exceeds about 3V. With an output current of 1A and an input of 5V, the differential output quiescent current is differential, so it is only 30 mA. The presence of a higher quiescent current is only when the voltage is regulated (V IN - V OUT ≤ 3V).

Also designed for vehicle applications, the LM2941 and all regulated circuits protect batteries with reverse mounting or two battery jumps. In line transients, such as load dumps, the regulator will automatically shut down when the input voltage can temporarily exceed the specified maximum operating voltage to protect the internal circuit and load. Familiar regulation features such as short circuit and thermal overload protection are also available.
