The LM2941 positive voltage regulation function sources 1A output current with a typical dropout of 0.5V and maximum 1V capability over temperature. In addition, quiescent current reduction circuitry has been included, which reduces the current on the ground pin when the difference between the input voltage and output voltage exceeds about 3V. With an output current of 1A and an input of 5V, the quiescent current of the differential output is therefore only 30 mA. Higher quiescent currents exist only when regulated dropout mode_（VIN_-V OUT ≤ 3V）。

Also designed for vehicle applications, the LM2941 and all regulated circuits protect batteries from reverse mounting or two battery hopping. During line transients, such as load dumps, when the input voltage can temporarily exceed the specified maximum operating voltage, the regulator will automatically shut down to protect the internal circuit and load. Familiar adjustment functions such as short-circuit and thermal overload protection are also provided.
