The LM2990 three-terminal, low dropout, 1 amp negative voltage regulator has a fixed output voltage of -5, -5.2, -12, -15V.

The LM2990 uses new circuit design technology to provide low voltage drop and low quiescent current. A low dropout voltage of 1A load current is typically 0.6V and in the worst case a maximum of 1V is guaranteed over the entire operating temperature range. The typical quiescent current is 1A and the input/output voltage difference of 1 mA load current is greater than 3V. A unique circuit design with an internal bias power supply limits the quiescent current to only 9 mA (typical) when regulated dropout mode (V OUT - V IN). ≤ 3V）。 The output voltage accuracy is guaranteed to be ± 5% full load and extreme temperature.

The LM2990 is short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown to improve the reliability of the equipment during long periods of heavy load, including hysteresis. The LM2990 is a 3-pin TO-220 package rated for automotive-grade temperature range of -40°C to +125°C operation
