The LM3000 is a dual-output synchronous step-down controller designed to convert input voltages as low as 0.6V in the output voltage range from 3.3V to 18.5V. Two outputs have programmable switching at a constant frequency of 200 kHz to 1.5 MHz, and a second output of 180 degrees from the first stage, minimizing input filter requirements. The switching frequency can also be locked to a stage of an external frequency. A CLKOUT provides a 90-degree phase that allows the second chip to run the main chip of the stage with the external clock of the main clock. Analog current mode control uses bottom FET detection to provide fast transient response and current limiting without the need for external current-sense resistors or RC networks. Individual enable, soft-start, and tracking pins allow each individually controlled output to provide maximum flexibility in designing the system's power sequencing.

The LM3000 has a full range of protection features that include input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), power supply good (PGOOD) per output signal, overvoltage pry and hiccup mode in short-circuit events.
