The LM3000 is a dual-output synchronous buck controller whose purpose is to convert the input voltage to be reduced from an output voltage of 3.3V to 18.5V to as low as 0.6V. The two outputs of the switch are switched at a constant 200 kHz to 1.5 MHz programmable output frequency with a second 180 degrees from the first stage to reduce input filter requirements. The switching frequency is also locked to an external phase. CLKOUT provides a phase external clock with the master clock that eliminates the 90 degrees of phase with the main chip that allows the second chip to run. Bottom-FET sensing is used in analog current mode control, providing fast transient response and current limiting without the need for external current-sense resistors or RC networks. Independent enable, soft-start, and tracking pins allow each output to be controlled independently to provide maximum flexibility in designing the system's power sequencing.

The LM3000 boasts protection features including input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), power supply good (PGOOD) for each output, overvoltage pry and hiccup over the full range of short-circuit event mode signals.
