All the features required for the LM3102's synchronous buck converter to achieve high efficiency and cost-effective buck regulators. It provides a load capacity of 2.5A with an output voltage as low as 0.8V. Dual N-channel synchronous MOSFET switches allow for low component counts, reducing complexity and reducing board size.

Unlike most other COT regulations, the LM3102 does not rely on an output stabilized capacitor ESR and is designed to perform exceptionally well with ceramic and other very low ESR output capacitors. It eliminates the need for loop compensation, fast load transient response and simple circuit implementation results. The operating frequency is virtually the same as the line-to-line, as the input voltage and on-time are inversely proportional. The operating frequency can be externally programmed up to 1 MHz. Protection features include V undervoltage CC lockout, output overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, gate drive undervoltage lockout. The LM3102 is available in thermally enhanced eTSSOP-20 packages as well as uSMD low-profile chip-level packages to reduce output current.
