All the features of the LM3102's synchronous rectifier buck converter require features to achieve high efficiency and cost-effectiveness buck regulators. It is available with an output voltage as low as 0.8V with a load capability of 2.5A. Dual N-channel synchronous MOSFET switches allow low component count, reducing complexity and board size.

Unlike most other COT regulators, the LM3102 does not rely on output stable capacitor ESR and is designed to excel with ceramic and other very low ESR output capacitors. It eliminates the need for loop compensation, fast load transient response and simple circuit implementation. The operating frequency remains almost inversely different from the line due to the inverse relationship between input voltage and on-time. The operating frequency can be externally programmed up to 1 MHz. Protection features include V-undervoltage_CCLockout, output overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, gate drive undervoltage lockout. The LM3102 is available in thermally enhanced eTSSOP-20 packages and uSMD low-profile chip-scale packages to reduce output current.
