The synchronous rectification of the LM3103 buck converter enables all the necessary functions of a high-efficiency and cost-effective step-down regulator. It is capable of delivering an output voltage as low as 0.6V 0.75A load. Dual N-channel synchronous MOSFET switches allow for low component counts, reducing complexity and reducing board size.

Unlike most other COT regulators, the LM3103 does not rely on a stable output capacitor for ESR and is designed to work well with ceramic and other very low ESR output capacitors. It eliminates the need for loop compensation, resulting in a fast load transient response and simple circuit implementation. The operating frequency maintains an almost constant line change due to the inverse relationship between input voltage and time. The operating frequency can be externally programmed up to 1 MHz. Protection features include V CC lockout, output overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, and gate drive undervoltage lockout. The LM3103 is available in a thermally enhanced eTSSOP-16 package.
