In the LM3150 SIMPLE SWITCHER ® The controller is a power controller that provides an output current of 12A in a typical application that enables easy use and simplified steps. The LM3150 has an adjustable output voltage drop to 0.6V input voltage range from 6V to 42V for commercial use. The switching frequency is adjustable up to 1 MHz and the synchronous architecture design provides high efficiency. The LM3150 controller uses proprietary Analog Ripple Mode (ERM) control for low ESR output capacitors, reducing the overall solution size and output voltage ripple allowing for a fixed on-time (COT) architecture. The fixed on-time (COT) regulatory architecture enables fast transient response without loop compensation, reducing the number of external components and reducing design complexity.
Such as thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout, overvoltage protection, short circuit protection, current limiting, output voltage fault protection function, pre-bias start allows for a reliable and robust solution.
In the LM3150 SIMPLE SWITCHER ® The concept provides an easy-to-use complete design with minimal number of external components and National Semiconductor's WEBENCH ® Online design tools. WEBENCH ® Support is provided at every step of the design process, including features such as a new MOSFET selector, electrical simulation, thermal simulation, prototyping, and computational capabilities for the external components of the board.
