The LM3203 is a DC-DC converter optimized for RF power amplifiers (PAs) powered from single-cell lithium-ion batteries. However, they can be used in many other applications. The 2.7V to 5.5V input voltage is followed by an adjustable output voltage of 0.8V to 3.6V. Use V_CONAnalog inputs and external resistor dividers that optimize the efficiency of RF PAs at different power levels set the output voltage.

The LM3203 offers 3 modes for mobile phones and similar RF PA applications. Fixed frequency PWM mode minimizes RF interference. Bypass the internal bypass switch power supply from the battery's PA direct mode will. Shutdown mode shuts down the device and reduces power consumption to 0.1μA (typical).

The LM3203 is available in a 10-pin lead-free micro SMD package. The high switching frequency (up to 2MHz) allows the use of tiny surface mount components.
