The LM3401 is a switching controller design that provides constant current, high power LEDs. The LM3401 driver is an external P-MOSFET switch for buck (buck) regulators. The LM3401 offers an accuracy of ± 6% with a wide variety of LEDs and a constant current in the number of LEDs in series. Output current adjustment and external current sense resistor to drive LEDs with high power over 1A.

For improved accuracy and efficiency, the LM3401 features a double-ended hysteresis, very low reference voltage, and short propagation delays. Protection against cyclic current limits, overcurrent and short-circuit faults. Other features include CMOS-compatible input pins for adjustable hysteresis and PWM dimming.
