The LM3404/04HV is a monolithic switch designed to provide a constant current, high power LED voltage regulator. Ideal for automotive, industrial, and general lighting applications, they include a high-side N-channel MOSFET switching buck (buck) regulator with 1.5A current limit typical. Hysteresis controlled over time and external resistors allows the converter output voltage to be adjusted as needed to provide a constant current series and different numbers and types of LED arrays connected in series and parallel. LEDs are dimmed with pulse-width modulation (PWM), break/LED open-circuit protection, low-power shutdown, and thermal shutdown to complete the function setting.
