The LM3404/04HV is a monolithic switching regulator with a high power LED that delivers constant current. Ideal for automotive, industrial, and general lighting applications, they contain a high-side N-channel MOSFET switching buck (buck) regulator (typical) with a 1.5A current limit. The control time and hysteresis of an external resistor allow adjustment as needed to provide a constant current in series and series with different numbers and types of LED arrays connected to the converter output voltage. LED dimming is complete with a complete feature set through pulse width modulation (PWM), damaged/LED open circuit protection, low-power shutdown and thermal shutdown capabilities.
