The LM3406/06HV is a monolithic switching regulator with a high power LED that provides a constant current. Ideal for automotive, industrial, and general lighting applications, they contain a typical high-side N-channel MOSFET switching buck (buck) regulator with a 2.0A current limit. Controlling the time on the true average current and external current sense resistor enables the output voltage of the converter to be adjusted as needed to provide a constant current, series and series parallel connection to different numbers and types of LED arrays. LEDs are supplied using a dedicated logic pin for input voltage or dimmed by pulse width modulation (PWM). The feature set of this product is rounded with low-power shutdown and thermal shutdown protection.
