The LM3406/06HV is a monolithic switch designed to provide a constant current, high power LED regulator. Ideal for automotive, industrial, and general lighting applications, they include a typical high-side N-channel MOSFET switching buck (buck) regulator with 2.0A current limit. Time on with true average current control and external current sense resistors enables the converter output voltage to adjust as needed to provide a constant current series and an array of different numbers and types of LEDs connected in series and parallel. LEDs are dimmed through pulse width modulation (PWM) by using a dedicated logic pin by the power supply input voltage or PWM. The feature set of this product is to include low-power shutdown and thermal shutdown protection.
