The LM3407 is a constant current output buck switching converter floating design that provides constant current, high power LEDs. This device is ideal for use in automotive, industrial, and general lighting applications. The LM3407 integrates an application solution for a power N-MOSFET, making it compact and easy to implement. An external 1% thick film resistor allows the converter output voltage to be adjusted as needed to achieve a constant current for different numbers and types of series LEDs with an accuracy of 10%. The converter has an adjustable switching frequency from 300 kHz to 1 MHz. The input of the LM3407 with dimming allows the LEDs to be controlled by pulse width modulation (PWM) brightness. In addition, a separate enable pin allows for low-power shutdown. The exposed pad eMSOP-8 package provides superior thermal performance and thermal performance. Input UVLO, output open-circuit protection guarantees a robust LED driver solution.
