The LM3409/09HV is a buck (buck) current regulator for a P-channel MOSFET (PFET) controller. They offer a wide input voltage range, high-side differential low-voltage adjustable threshold current sensing, fast output enable/disable functionality, and thermally enhanced eMSOP-10 package. These features combine to make the LM3409/09HV ideal for driving LEDs with easy forward currents up to 5A as a constant current source. The LM3409/09Q/09HV/09QHV is regulated using constant off-time (COFT) control without the need for an external control loop to compensate for the need for an accurate constant current. Analog and PWM dimming are easy to achieve, and results are achieved in high linear dimming with excellent contrast range. Complete feature set for programmable UVLO, low-power shutdown, and thermal shutdown.
