The LM3410 constant current LED driver is a monolithic, high-frequency, PWM DC/DC converter with a 5-pin SOT23, 6-pin LLP, and an 8-pin eMSOP package. With minimal external components, the LM3410 is easy to use. It can drive a peak current of a 2.8A typical 170mΩ internal NMOS switch. The switching frequency is set internally to 525 kHz or 1.60 MHz, allowing for the use of very small surface mount inductors and chip capacitors. Even at high operating frequencies, an efficiency of up to 88% is easy to achieve. External shutdown is included and has an ultra-low standby current of 80 nA. The LM3410 uses functions such as current mode control and internal compensation to provide high performance in a wide range of operating conditions. Other features include dimming, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and thermal shutdown.
