The LM3445 is an adaptive constant shutdown time AC/DC step-down (step-down) constant current controller designed to be compatible with bidirectional triac dimmers. The LM3445 provides a constant current for high-power LEDs for illumination and includes a bidirectional triac dim decoder. The dim decoder allows for extensive use of standard TRIAC dimmer LED dimming. High frequency capability architecture that allows the use of small external passive components. The LM3445 includes a venting circuit to ensure proper triac operation while allowing for current flow line voltage low to enable proper firing bidirectional triac. Passive PFC circuitry ensures a good power factor, plots directly from the current cycle line, and provides a constant positive voltage buck regulator. Additional features include thermal shutdown, current limiting, and V CC undervoltage lockout.
