The LM3477/A is a high-side N-channel MOSFET switching regulator controller. It can be used in topologies where a high-side MOSFET is required, such as buck, buck-boost, and zeta regulation. The LM3477/A's internal push-pull driver allows for wide MOSFET compatibility. This, along with a wide input voltage range, discrete power elements and adjustable current limits, allows the LM3477/One to be optimized for a variety of applications.

The LM3477/A uses a switching frequency of 500KHz to reduce the overall solution size. Current mode control requires only one frequency-compensated resistor and capacitor. Current-mode architecture with superior line and load regulation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. The 5μA shutdown state can be sequenced with power savings and power supply. Other features include internal soft-start and output overvoltage protection. Internal soft start reduces inrush current. Overvoltage protection is a safety feature to ensure that the output voltage remains internally regulated.

LM3477A is a similar LM3477. The main difference between the two is the point when the device enters hysteresis mode transition. The hysteresis threshold is LM3477A one-third of that of LM3477.
