The LM2733 switching regulator's current-mode boost converter operates at a fixed frequency of 1.6 MHz (option for "X") and 600 kHz (option "Y").

Using a SOT-23 package for minimal power loss with an internal 1A switch and using small inductors and capacitors, results in the highest power density in the industry. The 40V internal switching makes these solutions perfect for increasing voltages to 16V or higher.

These parts have a logic-level shutdown pin that can be used to reduce quiescent current and extend battery life.

It is protected by cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown. Internal compensation simplifies the design and reduces the number of components.
