The LM3481 is a versatile low-side n-FET switching regulator high-performance controller. It is suitable for low-end FETs that require an LM3481 that can operate at very high switching frequencies to reduce the overall solution size, such as boost, flyback, SEPIC, etc., in topologies. The LM3481's switching frequency can be adjusted to any value between 100 kHz and 1 MHz by using an external resistor or synchronizing to an external clock. In addition to cycle-by-cycle current limiting, current mode control provides superior bandwidth and transient response. The current limit can be programmed with an external resistor.

LM3481 has built-in protection functions such as thermal shutdown, short circuit protection, and overvoltage protection. The power-saving shutdown mode reduces the total supply current to 5μA and allows for power sequencing. Internal soft start limits inrush current at start-up.
