The LM3519 driver with a constant current white LED provides 4 LCD backlights for handheld devices. The LED current is internally set up to 20mA. This series of connections allows LED currents to be uniform brightness and minimizes the number of traces on the LEDs. Brightness control is achieved by using PWM signals with frequencies up to 30kHz.

The LM3519 features a switching frequency between 2MHz and 8MHz, minimizing inductor size through a proprietary PFM regulatory architecture.

Low-cost small output capacitors with overvoltage protection circuits and high-frequency operating licenses. When turned off, the output and input are disconnected to avoid grounding through the LED's leakage current path.

The LM3519 is a compact 6-pin SOT23 package.
