LM48820 is a ground-referenced, fixed-gain audio power amplifier capable of delivering a continuous average power of less than 1% THD+N at 95mW in a 16Ω single-ended load from a 3V supply.

LM48820 features a new circuit technology that utilizes a charge pump to generate a negative reference voltage. This allows the output to be biased to the ground in question, eliminating the output coupled capacitors typically used with normal single-ended loads.

Boomer audio power amplifiers are designed to provide high-quality output power with a minimum number of external components. The LM48820 does not require an output coupling capacitor or a starter capacitor, making it ideal for use in mobile phones and other portable applications.

LM48820 features a low-power shutdown mode, per-channel, and soft-start function, reducing the choice of start-up current transients. In addition, LM48820 has an internal thermal shutdown protection mechanism.

LM48820 includes advanced POP and click-to-noise cancellation circuitry that would otherwise occur in the on- and off-conversion.

LM48820 has an internal fixed gain of 1.5V/V.
