LM48860 ground-reference, fixed-gain audio power amplifiers are capable of delivering 40mW of continuous average power per channel with a single-ended load of less than 1% THD+N from a 3V supply.
LM48860 features a new circuit technology that utilizes a charge pump to generate a negative reference voltage. This allows the output to be biased to the ground in question, eliminating the output coupled capacitors typically used with normal single-ended loads.
Boomer audio power amplifiers are designed to provide high-quality output power with very few external components. The LM48860 does not require output coupling capacitors or start-up capacitors, making them ideal for use in mobile phones and other low-voltage applications where minimal power consumption is a major requirement.
LM48860 has a low-power shutdown mode that is selectable for each channel. This is done by driving either ^SD_RC (turning off the right channel) or ^SD_LC (turning off the left channel) (or both) pin logic low, depending on the need to close on the channel. In addition, LM48860 has an internal thermal shutdown protection mechanism.
LM48860 includes advanced POP and click-to-noise cancellation circuitry that would otherwise occur in the on- and off-conversion process.
