The LM48861 is a single-power, ground-referenced stereo headphone amplifier. Part of the National Semiconductor PowerWise ® product family, LM48861 consumes only 3MW of power but still delivers great audio performance. Using ground as a reference architecture, it eliminates the large DC partitions required by traditional headphone amplifiers to save board space and reduce costs.

The LM48861 feature common mode sensing corrects the potential difference between any ground and amplifier between the headphone's return terminal, minimizing noise from any justified mismatch.
