The LM4941 is a fully differential audio power amplifier designed for demanding applications in mobile phones and other portable communications devices. It is capable of delivering 5V into an 8Ω loaddirect currentPower supply distortion (THD + N) is less than 1% continuous average power of 1.25 watts. The LM4941 does not require output coupling or starter capacitors, making it ideal for use in mobile phones and other small applications where minimal printed circuit board (PCB) space is a major requirement.

The LM4941 also has proprietary internal circuitry that suppresses the coupling of RF signals to the chip. This is important because some types of RF signals, such as GSM, can be coupled to the audio amplifier in such a way that the signal is heard through the speakers. The LM4941's RF suppression circuitry makes it ideal for use in portable applications where powerful RF signals generated from antennas or other portable electronic devices may emit sound as a couple amplifier.

Other features include a low-power shutdown mode, internal thermal shutdown protection, and advanced POP and click circuitry.
