The LM4980 is a stereo headphone audio amplifier that delivers 42mW to 16 when connected to a 3.0V power supply The load is less than 1% THD + N In the LM4980 package in SD package, customer benefits include low profile and small size. This package reduces PCB area and maximizes output power.

The LM4980 function circuitry greatly reduces the need for the headphones to turn on and off while driving, eliminating the need for output transients ("click" and "snap") of expensive external additional circuitry. The LM4980 also includes an externally controlled low-power, low-efficiency shutdown mode, as well as thermal shutdown. Boomer audio power amplifiers are designed to use few external components and provide high-quality output power in a surface-mount package.
