The LM5000 is a monolithic integrated circuit specifically designed and optimized for flyback, boost or forward power converter applications. The internal power switch is rated up to 80V and is set to a current limit of 2A. Protects the current limit and thermal shutdown circuit of the power switch. The current-mode control scheme provides excellent suppression of line transients and cycle-by-cycle current limits. External compensation pins and built-in ramp compensation allow for user-optimized frequency compensation. Other features include soft start to reduce external pressure on the remote shutdown pins for start and on/off control. There are two operating frequency ranges to operate. while the LM5000 - 3-pin or 300kHz (FS ground) or 700kHz (FS on) options. The LM5000 – 6-pin or 600kHz (FS ground) or 1.3MHz (FS on) options. The device is available in a low-profile 16-pin TSSOP package or a thermally enhanced 16-lead LLP package.
