The switching regulator LM5010A step is an enhanced version of the LM5010's input operating range that extends to a minimum of 6V. The LM5010A features needed to achieve low cost, high efficiency, and the buck regulator has a load current of 1A that exceeds the supply capacity. This high-voltage regulator integrates an N-channel buck switch and is available in LLP-10 and TSSOP-14EP packages for enhanced thermal dissipation. Constant on-time regulation of the plan eliminates loop compensation for fast load transient response and simplified circuit realization results. The operating frequency still varies with the line and load, due to the inverse relationship between the input voltage and the on-time. The valley current limit detection is set at 1.25A. Other features include: VCC undervoltage lockout, thermal shutdown, subgate voltage drive lockout, and maximum duty cycle limit.
