The LM5020 High Voltage Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller includes all the features required to implement a single-ended mains converter topology. Current mode control is based on output voltage regulation, which simplifies loop compensation design while providing feedforward inherent in the line. The LM5020 includes a high-voltage start-up regulator that operates over a wide input voltage range of up to 100V. PWM controllers are designed for high-speed capabilities, including oscillators with a frequency range of 1MHz and a total propagation delay of less than 100ns. Other features include an error amplifier, high-precision reference, line undervoltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, ramp compensation, soft start, oscillator synchronization capability, and thermal shutdown. The controller is available in MSOP-10 and LLP-10 packages.
