The LM5020 High Voltage Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller includes all the features needed to implement a single-ended main power converter topology. The output voltage regulation is based on current mode control, which simplifies the loop compensation design while providing feedforward inherent in the line. The LM5020 includes a high-voltage start-up regulator that operates up to 100V over a wide input range. PWM controllers are designed for high-speed capabilities, including oscillators with a frequency range of 1MHz and a total transmission delay of less than 100ns. Other features include an error amplifier, high-precision reference, line undervoltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, ramp compensation, soft start, oscillator synchronization capability, and thermal shutdown. The controller is available in two MSOP-10 and LLP-10 packages.
