The LM5041A PWM controller includes functions such as any current or voltage feed-pull or bridge power converter. These "cascading" topologies are ideal for applications with multiple outputs and higher power. The LM5041A's four control outputs include: buck stage control (HD and LD) and push-pull control outputs (PUSH and PULL). The push-pull output drive has a duty cycle of 50% nominal half of the buck switching frequency in one of the phases and can be used for any guaranteed overlap time (current feed application) or guaranteed shut-off time setting (voltage feeding application). Push-pull stage MOSFETs can drive directly from the internal gate driver to the step-down stage that requires an external driver, such as the LM5102. The LM5041A includes a high-voltage start-up regulator that operates at 100V over a wide input range of 15V. PWM controllers are designed for high-speed capabilities, including oscillators with frequency ranges up to 1 MHz and less than 100ns total propagation delay. Other features include: input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), soft start, error amplifier, high-precision voltage reference, and overheat shutdown.

The two differences between the LM5041 and LM5041A are that there is no "A" version in the second level to soft-start no current limit (SS) to turn off the comparator in the "A" version.
