illustrate
The LM5072 Power Delivery Equipment (PD) interface and pulse width modulation (PWM) controller provide a complete power solution with fully IEEE 802.3af compliant PD connected to Power over Ethernet (PoE) networks for power. The controller integrates all necessary functions to implement PD-powered interfaces and dc-to-dc conversion with a minimum number of external components. The LM5072 provides PD with the flexibility to accept auxiliary sources from multiple configurations, such as AC adapter power supplies. The low RDS(ON) PD interface hot-swappable MOSFETs and programmable DC current limit extend the LM5072 application range with twice the power level of the 802.3af standard PD device. Up to 100V, simplified transient voltage suppressor with rated voltage, PD selection from network transient protection. The LM5072 includes an easy-to-use one that facilitates a variety of single-ended power supply topologies, including flyback, forward, and buck PWM controllers. The PWM control scheme is based on peak current control mode, which provides inherent advantages, including line feed-forward, feedback cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and simplified loop compensation. Both versions of the LM5072 offer a maximum duty cycle of 80% (-80 suffix), or a maximum duty cycle of 50% (-50 suffix).
