The LM5085 is a high-efficiency PFET, switching regulator controller that can be used to quickly and easily develop a wide range of small-range, high-efficiency step-down regulators. This high-voltage controller contains a PFET gate driver and a high-voltage bias regulation with a wide input range of 4.5V to 75V operation. The principle of constant on-time regulation, eliminating the need for loop compensation, simplifies the implementation of circuits, and results in ultra-fast load transient response. The operating frequency remains almost constant with changes in line and load due to the inverse relationship between input voltage and time. The architecture of the PFET allows a low dropout of 100% duty cycle operation. Whether it is a PFET, or an external sense resistor R DS(ON), it can be used to detect current overcurrent detection.
