The LM5574 chip is an easy-to-use SIMPLE SWITCHER ® buck regulator that enables design engineers to design and optimize a reliable power supply with minimal components. Operating from 6 to 75V, the LM5574 chip provides a continuous output current of 0.5A with an integrated 750mΩN channel MOSFET. The regulator uses a current-mode architecture that provides the low duty cycle of a no-current mode regulator that typically limits the inherent line gauge, tight load transient response, and easy loop compensation. The operating frequency is adjustable, from 50kHz to 500kHz, allowing for optimization of scale and efficiency. To reduce electromagnetic interference, the frequency synchronization pin allows the LM(2)557x family of multiple ICs to automatically synchronize operation or synchronize to an external clock. The LM5574 chip ensures robustness with cycle-by-cycle current limiting, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and remote shutdown. The device is available in a TSSOP-16 package. The LM5574 chip is supported by a full set of WEBENCH online design tools.
