LM79MXX three-terminal regulator series offers fixed output voltages - 5V, - 12V, - 15V. These devices require only one external component at the output to compensate for the capacitor. LM79MXX series is packaged in a TO-220 power package and is capable of delivering an output current of 0.5A.

These regulators feature internal current limiting, safety zone protection, and thermal shutdown protection against almost all overload conditions.

The low ground pin current of the LM79MXX series allows the output voltage to easily drive the preset value of one of the resistor dividers above. The low quiescent current of these devices with a specified maximum line and load variation ensures good regulation in the increased voltage mode.

- 5V, -12V, -15V output voltage than other LM137 series offers an output voltage range from 1.2V to -57V.
