LM95233 chip is an 11-bit digital temperature sensor with a two-wire System Management Bus (SMBus) interface that monitors the temperature of two remote diodes as well as their own temperature. LM95233 chip can monitor temperatures very accurately up to two external devices, such as microprocessors, graphics processors, or connected to the 2N3904 series of diodes. The beta test point compensation technology of the TruTherm BJT for LM95233 chip semiconductors enables accurate thermal diode sensing in 90nm or 65nm processes.
LM95233 chip reports temperatures in the 127.875°C/-128°C temperature range and 0°C/255°C in two different formats. LM95233 chip ^ TCRIT1,^ TCRIT2 ^ TCRIT3 outputs can be used to shut down the system, turn on the system fan, or as an interrupt function for microcontrollers when triggering any of the eastern window event channels above its corresponding programmable limit. The status of ^ TCRIT1,^ TCRIT2 and ^ TCRIT3 pins can be read back from the status register. Shielded registers can be used to further control the ^ TCRIT output. LM95233 chip's remote temperature channel programmable digital filter to minimize unnecessary^ TCRIT activity when encountering temperature spikes.
Each LM95233 chip channel includes a choice of submicron process or 2N3904 diode models for optimal flexibility and accuracy, as well as offset correction registers. A three-level address pin allows for up to 3 LM95233s to be connected to the same SMBus master. LM95233 chip includes features such as power saving: programmable slew rate, shutdown mode, and shutdown of unused channels.
