The LM98722 is a fully integrated, high-performance 16-bit, 45 MSPS signal digital color copier, scanner and other processing solution for image processing applications. The throughput of high-speed signals reaches an innovative use of architectures employed with correlated double sampling (CDS), typically with CCD arrays, or sample-and-hold (S/H) inputs (for higher speed CCD or CMOS image sensors). The signal path utilizes an 8-bit programmable gain amplifier (PGA), A+/- 9-bit offset correction DAC, and independently controlled digital black level correction for each input cycle. Independent programming of the PGA and offset DAC allows for unique value and three analog inputs, each canceled off. THESE SIGNALS ARE THEN TRANSMITTED TO A 45MHZ HIGH PERFORMANCE ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTER (ADC). The fully differential processing channel shows special immunity to interference with a very low noise layer of -74 dB. The excellent dynamic performance of the 16-bit ADC makes the LM98722 transparent in the image reproduction chain.

A very flexible integrated spread spectrum clock generator (SSCG) modulator includes assistance with EM compliance and reduced system cost.
