The LMH0307 3 Gbps HD/SD-SDI Dual Output Cable Detection Cable Driver is designed for serial digital video applications with SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M, SMPTE 259M. LMH0307 two complementary output drivers and a driver 75Ω transmission line (Belden 1694A, i.e. Belden 8281, or equivalent) with data transfer rates of up to 2.97 Gbps.

LMH0307 includes intelligent sensing to improve system diagnostics. The cable detection function detects the end of the year to determine if the output BNC cable is properly connected. Loss of Input Signal (LOS) detects the cable driver and enters a valid signal. These sensing functions, which can be used to alert the user of system failures and activate power saving mode, reduce the power consumption of the cable driver to 4 megawatts. These functions are accessed through the SMBus interface.

LMH0307 SMPTE 259M and SMPTE 424M/292M are available in two selectable conversion rates. The output amplitude is adjustable ± 5 mV step size is 10% of SMBus.

LMH0307 is powered from a single 3.3V supply. Power consumption is typically 275 MW and 230 MW in SD mode and HD mode. LMH0307 is available in two space-saving packages: the 4× 4 mm 16-pin LLP and the more space-efficient 3 × 3 mm 25-ball microarray package.
