The LMH0307 3 Gbps HD/SD-SDI Dual Output Cable Detection Cable Driver is designed for serial digital video applications with SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M, SMPTE 259M. The LMH0307 enables two complementary output drivers and a drive 75Ω transmission line (Belden 1694A, Belden 8281, or equivalent) with data rates of up to 2.97 Gbps.
The LMH0307 includes an intelligent sensing function to improve the diagnosis of the system. The cable detection feature is terminated near the end of the year to determine if the output BNC cable is properly connected. Loss-of-Input Signal (LOS) detects the cable driver and enters a valid signal. These sensing functions, which can be used to alert the user to system faults and activate power-saving modes for acute power, reduce the power consumption of cable drivers to 4 megawatts. These functions are accessed through the SMBus interface.
The LMH0307 offers SMPTE 259M and SMPTE 424M/292M with two selectable conversion rates. The output amplitude is adjustable ± 10% of the SMBus in 5 mV steps.
The LMH0307 operates from a single 3.3V supply. Power consumption is typically 275 MW and 230 MW in SD mode and HD mode. The LMH0307 is available in two space-saving packages: a 4 × 4 mm 16-pin LLP and a space-efficient 3 × 3 mm 25-ball microarray package.
