While LMH0303 3 Gbps HD/SD SDI Cable Driver with Cable Inspection is designed for SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M and SMPTE 259M serial digital video applications. LMH0303 drive 75Ω transmission line (Belden 1694A, Belden 8281 or similar) with data rates up to 2.97 Gbps.

LMH0303 includes intelligent sensing capabilities to improve system diagnostics. This cable detection feature detects proximal terminations to determine if the cable is properly connected to the output BNC. Input Signal Loss (LOS) detects the presence of a valid signal at the cable driver input. These sensing functions can be used to alert the user to system failures and activate deep energy-saving modes, reducing the power consumption of the cable driver by 4 milliwatts. These features can all be accessed through the SMBus interface.

LMH0303 offers two SMPTE 259M and SMPTE 424M/292M with selectable conversion rates. The output amplitude is adjusted at 5 ± 10 mV steps via SMBus%.

The LMH0303 uses a single 3.3V power supply. The power consumption is usually 130 mW in SD mode and 155 milliwatts in HD mode. The LMH0303 is available in a 16-pin LLP package.
