The LMS75LBC176 is a differential bus/line transceiver designed for bidirectional data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It is designed for balancing transmission lines. It complies with TIA/EIA RS-485 and ISO 8482:1987(E). The LMS75LBC176 combines a three-state ™ differential line driver and a differential input receiver, both of which operate from a single 5.0V supply. The driver and receiver have aggressive high and aggressive low enablement, respectively externally connected to the direction control function. The differential inputs of the driver and receiver are internally connected to form a differential input/output (I/O) bus designed to provide a port with minimal load on the bus whenever the driver is disabled or VC = 0V. These ports feature a wide range of positive and negative common-mode voltages, making the device suitable for multi-point applications in noisy environments. The LMS75LBC176 is available in an 8-pin SOIC package. It is a slot replacement to TI's SN75LBC176.
